Opening in 1788, Northallerton Prison was designed by the prolific Yorkshire architect & engineer John Carr. The design consisted of 4 buildings which were all build at different stages.
The first building was completed in 1788 and the final building consisting of 2 wings were built in the early 1850s.
The prison was closed in 2013 and purchased by Hambleton District council in 2015.
Plans were put in place to regenerate the site into high quality business, entertainment and retail facilities which safeguards the future prosperity of the town
LHL Group's Daniel Bower was instructed as Employers Agent, Project Management & Quantity Surveyor and the build was completed in 2023.
