Senior Chartered Building Surveyor Position

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership role overseeing a team of Building Surveyors.
  • Engaging in the delivery of Building Surveying services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Undertake a full range of project and professional duties working for both private and public sector clients.
  • Ensure reported data is accurate and kept up to date.
  • Assist with procurement and management of sub-contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the contract, liaise with the project teams on project status.
  • Guarantee the financial success and quality delivery of construction projects through effective cost management, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and value engineering.
  • Supporting other colleagues within the multi-disciplinary practice.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Confident and concise communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Full and detailed knowledge/understanding of both traditional and modern construction techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and technical standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent client management and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of building regulations and construction contracts.
  • Excellent time management and meeting deadlines.
  • Ideally Chartered Status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar.
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle with business insurance.
  • Live within a commutable distance to either York, Hull, or Harrogate offices.
