Residential Building Surveyor

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership role overseeing the residential surveying department
  • Engage in the delivery of Residential Building Surveying services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Promote the residential survey offering and engage in business development activities.
  • Undertake all residential survey types.
  • Support the administration team with taking and responding to enquiries and follow up processes.
  • Ensure reported data is kept accurate and up to date.
  • Guarantee the financial success and quality delivery of survey instructions through effective cost management.
  • Support other colleagues within the multi-disciplinary practice.

Position Requirements:

  • Ideally experienced in surveying various types of residential properties including listed and large scale, high value properties.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Confident and concise communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Full and detailed knowledge/understanding of both traditional and modern construction techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and technical standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent client management and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Chartered Status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle with business insurance.
  • Live within a commutable distance to either York, Hull, or Harrogate offices.

  • RICS Level 2 Home Surveys
  • LHL Superstructure Surveys (RICS Level 3 equivalent)
  • LHL Building Survey (RICS Level 3 equivalent)
